Few things are more precious and wonderful than welcoming the arrival of new life in the world. An abundance of love and joy is bestowed on a family through their little one, and it’s an occasion to be celebrated with praise and beautiful words!
Baby showers are wonderous occasions, and there are many fitting Bible verses that encapsulate the love, oneness, grace, and joy such events ought to command.
You don’t have to read all these out to your guests in one fell swoop – instead, work them into your party in discrete, parceled batches. Slip them into your invites, guest bags, thank you cards, etc. This way ensures that each verse is given the respect it deserves, rather than simply ending up as part of a list to be rattled off over a dull evening.
The Bible has a lot of wisdom suitable for these types of occasions. We’ll share our list first, then go over how you could go about integrating these Bible verses into your baby shower celebration!

Where to Use Them
It’s common for people on such monumental occasions to only read these verses out loud.
There’s nothing wrong with reading some Bible verses out during the opening or closing speech of your baby shower, but remember that these verses are meant to enhance or relate to your message – they shouldn’t be used as a crutch for your speech’s content!
For this reason, relate each Bible verse to where they’d fit best in your party. You’ve got a ton of options here, so don’t be ashamed to explore things that go beyond the tried and true.
Print them on the Invitations!
Putting a Bible verse down this early on helps set the tone for the occasion. You just can’t go wrong starting things off gracefully, so pick out something memorable for your opening verse.
That said, some of your potential invites might not take to this addition all that well. They might be uncomfortable with the addition of Bible verses there, but pay them no mind. This occasion is about you, your partner, and your child – run it as all of you see fit!
If you have a choice to put the verse inside the card or outside of it, we’d recommend taking a third option – placing the verse on something else entirely, then slipping it into the folded card.
If one of your guests happened to have been charmed by what they read, they could easily turn that verse into a bookmark now!
Read them during the Baby Shower’s Opening!
Reading verses aloud during the opening speech is a classic. It works pretty well, and you don’t have to worry about printing or other coordination efforts – just speak from your heart.
The problem comes when you use too many verses during this time. In general, you can usually cover and expand on one or two verses in reasonable depth. Anything more than that risks your strong opening dragging on, which could have guests zoning out on the tail end of your speech.
You want to share your joy on this occasion, but as poetic as some of the Bible’s verses are your joy deserves to be shared primarily through your own words.
Tuck them into the Room’s General Décor!
You might just want to print out your favorite Bible verse on a huge banner in your room. Complement this by adding other verses onto the different table signs – you could even use these table sign verses to “group” your guests.
Pro tip: Just place the verse name down for your table signs, rather than the verse itself. People are generally curious by nature and oftentimes more invested in answers that they have to earn. Let them discover that verse for themselves!
That mystery verse on the table sign could pique your guest’s interest far more effectively than anything else you might have cooked up earlier!
Slip them into your Guest’s Gift Bags (Or have them be the Guest Bags!)
A short booklet – filled with your favorite verses – tucked into a cute gift bag could be a fun option to share some inspiring verses. If they want to read them, they can do so at the pace they desire.
Alternatively, you could put their verses on the guest bags themselves! Scripture gift bags can make for an adorably practical keepsake from a lovely baby shower, and you can usually pick them up in bulk to boot!
Jot them down on the Thank-You Cards!
Lastly, you can’t go wrong by adding a verse to follow your simple thank-you cards. It doesn’t really matter where the verse is, but we’d recommend giving it the personal touch. Try handwriting these Bible verses, rather than simply printing them out beforehand.
Your guests will certainly appreciate the effort you took to make their presence feel extra welcome!
Final Thoughts
Bible verses suit baby showers way better than most people would expect, but they need to be used cleverly to make a solid, memorable impression.
Don’t look into what you have to say – as you’ll have more than enough options – so much as how and where you’ll be sharing that wisdom within God’s grace!
